(Today’s installment of your faithful reporter’s quest to prognosticate all 1,230 NBA regular-season games this season.)

    Warriors (5-15) at Thunder (2-19), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Thunder +1

A loss here, and the Warriors might not win again until Monta comes back.

    Bobcats (7-13) at Heat (11-9), 4:35 p.m.
    Pick: Heat -8

Larry Brown, after his team shot 36.2 percent against the Cavaliers: “I thought almost every shot we took was just something they were hoping would go in the basket.”

The question is, “Why does this surprise you in any way, Larry?”

    Rockets (13-7) at Grizzlies (5-15), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Rockets -7

Somebody should start a pool on whether Marc Iavaroni or Reggie Theus will last longer.

    Magic (15-5) at Clippers (4-16), 7:35 p.m.
    Pick: Magic -4

    J.J. Redick lives!

    Season record: 148-149-3

(Today’s installment of your faithful reporter’s quest to prognosticate all 1,230 NBA regular-season games this season.)

    Pistons (11-7) at Knicks (8-11), 9:05 a.m.
    Pick: Knicks +6.5

Don Nelson was right, sort of: After being traded, Al Harrington is getting every single shot he could possibly want.

    Trail Blazers (14-7) at Raptors (8-10), 10:05 a.m.
    Pick: Trail Blazers -2.5

Usually, I don’t like teams at the tail end of a long road trip. But Jay Triano (0-1 with a 27-point loss in his debut) didn’t bring much in the way of a dead coach bounce.

    Celtics (19-2) at Pacers (7-12), 3:05 p.m.
    Pick: Celtics -7.5

Boston beat Indy by 18 at home on Wednesday. Home-court advantage can’t be worth that much.

    Bucks (9-12) at Lakers (16-2), 6:35 p.m.
    Pick: Lakers -13.5

I was all set to pick the Bucks, then realized I just didn’t want to put my trust in Andrew Bogut.

(Today’s installment of your faithful reporter’s quest to prognosticate all 1,230 NBA regular-season games this season.)

    Warriors (5-14) at Spurs (10-8), 5:35 p.m.
    Pick: Spurs -12

It could be minus-24 and I wouldn’t change my pick.

    Cavaliers (16-3) at Bobcats (7-12), 4:05 p.m.
    Pick: Cavaliers -8

I’ll admit it: Having won 15 of 16, LBJ & Co. are making me believers. I bet David Stern can’t wait for a Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 in which the Cavs and Celtics combine for 147 points.

    Thunder (2-18) at Heat (10-9), 4:35 p.m.
    Pick: Thunder +11

I don’t want to imply that Earl Watson is bad at his job or anything, but when Russell Westbrook is not on the floor for Oklahoma City, the Thunder gets outscored by an average (per 100 possessions) of 115.6 to 88.7, a difference of 26.9 points.

OK, maybe I did want to imply that Earl Watson is bad at his job.

    Nets (10-8) at 76ers (9-11), 4:35 p.m.
    Pick: 76ers -2.5

I don’t think I realized quite what a bad fit Elton Brand was until I watched that game against Detroit. That was a revelation.

    Grizzlies (5-14) at Hornets (10-6), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Hornets -14.5

Ordinarily, I don’t like the Hornets at this high a price, but they’re coming off two days rest against a team on a back-to-back.

    Clippers (3-16) at Timberwolves (4-14), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Clippers +1

How on Earth is Mike Miller only getting 9.2 shots a game with the Timberwolves — fifth most on the team — while Randy Foye, he of the 40.6 FG% and 26.9 3FG%, is second at 12.7 FGA per? Better yet, how is Randy Wittman still employed while allowing this to happen?

    Wizards (3-14) at Bulls (8-11), 5:35 p.m.
    Pick: Wizards +8.5

Basketbawful coined the term “dead coach bounce,” and I’ve found that the rebound is even more pronounced against the spread. Washington is 4-2 ATS since firing Eddie Jordan (3-8 before), and Oklahoma City is 6-1 ATS with Scott Brooks (4-8 with P.J. Carlesimo).

    Hawks (12-6) at Mavericks (10-8), 5:35 p.m.
    Pick: Mavericks -6.5

I didn’t think I ever would see a situation where J.J. Barea is more important to a team than Jerry Stackhouse.

    Jazz (13-8) at Suns (11-9), 6:05 p.m.
    Pick: Jazz +7.5

The “We Hate The Suns” bandwagon is so crowded right now it’s threatening to topple over.

    Nuggets (13-7) at Kings (5-15), 7:05 p.m.
    Pick: Kings +5

Just think of it as motivation for ‘Melo.

    Warriors (5-13) at Rockets (12-7), 5:35 p.m.
    Pick: Warriors +8.5

I’m thinking Yao gets tired from whipping up on them and the Warriors sneak back to cover in the final minutes. Or I’m just suffering from encephalitis. One of the two. (This week, on a very special episode of “Grey’s Anatomy”– “He can’t be cured, Doc. He’s still picking the Warriors!”)

    Thunder (2-17) at Magic (14-5), 4:05 p.m.
    Pick: Thunder +13

I’m not sure how much this is going to help him land the full-time gig, but Oklahoma City has covered five of six games with Scott Brooks at the helm.

    Lakers (15-2) at Wizards (3-13), 4:05 p.m.
    Pick: Lakers -12

Months from now, it may be clear that Troy Murphy shot down a little slice history with that tip-in on Tuesday.

    Knicks (8-10) at Hawks (11-6), 4:35 p.m.
    Pick: Hawks -10.5

Cuttino Mobley is thinking about retirement because of an enlarged heart. What’s to think about — you can either collect your salary and ensure your health, or you can run the risk — however slight — of becoming the next Reggie Lewis.

    Pacers (7-11) at Cavaliers (15-3), 4:35 p.m.
    Pick: Cavaliers -11

Remember last season, when all the Cleveland fans were gnashing their teeth over the Anderson Varejao holdout? This Andy (60.7 FG%, career-high 11.5 points-per-36-minutes) is what they were whining about missing.

    Timberwolves (4-13) at Nets (9-8), 4:35 p.m.
    Pick: Nets -7

    Alright, Devin Harris, dazzle me.

    Trail Blazers (14-6) at Celtics (18-2), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Trail Blazers +8

It’s gotten to the point now where it’s most automatic to pull your fantasy players when they go up against the Celtics, no?

    76ers (8-11) at Pistons (11-6), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Pistons -8

Beating the old team never gets old for Allen.

    Clippers (3-15) at Grizzlies (4-14), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Grizzlies +1.5

Somehow, I don’t think footage of this game is going to get spliced into the B-roll for coaches’ instructional videos. Unless the guy doing the splicing is Tyler Durden, of course.

    Bobcats (7-11) at Bucks (8-12), 5:35 p.m.
    Pick: Bucks -4

Jason Richardson has now scored 10,000 points in his career. Too bad only 250 of them actually meant something.

    Raptors (8-9) at Jazz (12-8), 7:35 p.m.
    Pick: Raptors +4.5

I am Chris Bosh’s raging bile duct.

    Suns (11-8) at Mavericks (9-8), 5:05 p.m.
    Pick: Suns +3.5

I hate to keep harping on this point, but Phoenix is 19th in pace of play this season. As in, can’t even crack the top half of the league. I am now even more firmly convinced than ever that the NBA is not going to see a small ball team win a championship in my lifetime.

    Spurs (9-8) at Nuggets (13-6), 7:35 p.m.
    Pick: Spurs +4.5

According to Stats’ preview, Chauncey Billups has averaged 13.5 points on just 35.6 percent shooting against Tony Parker over the last six seasons. That’s enough of a reference to sway me.
