Practice update: Monta Ellis looks none the worse for wear

    Filed under: News; Tagged as:

Quick note from 1011 Broadway: The Warriors aren’t going full-court today — there’s a spirited 3-on-3 game with the youngsters (Jermareo Davidson, Anthony Randolph, C.J. Watson vs. Rob Kurz, Anthony Morrow and Marcus Williams) — but the veterans were out running various drills, and Monta Ellis does not show any after-effects of tweaking his left ankle in Monday’s 110-105 loss to the Spurs.

Even after most of the vets have gone into the locker room, Ellis is outside, practicing his shooting with assistants Stephen Silas and Rico Hines.

  1. Wow, that is good news!

  2. Monta should be resting his ankle… not even close to 100%

  3. watching the handful of games since his return it is obvious that Monta’s quickness is not back. I wonder if his quickness will ever return…

  4. Any observations on the youngsters’ 3 on 3 game?

  5. The Hinrick Maneuver.

Adam Sez: “So if Don Nelson still wants to win games this season — and judging by the 53 minutes played by Stephen Jackson I can only assume the answer to that question is yes — I would expect a point guard to be at the top of the Warriors’ shopping list before the trading deadline.”

One of the few teams with a spare, small-ball oriented PG is the Chicago Bulls. At 6′3″ Hinrick is tall for that position (Nellie likes that) and could play SG/PG alongside Ellis or Crawford (he once did).

    Any other PG’s available?

  6. Trade Maggette or Crawford to Chicago for Henrich!!!!!!!

    DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!

  7. The fact that hes playing Jax so many minutes and has abandoned the drive and kick system means hes tanking and is showcasing jax for the next few weeks

  8. Sadly enough- their not tanking or they’d be developing Morrow and Randolph.
Even Sadder- knowing that moron Rowell, he likely thinks that Jackson and Maggette are fine and that he needs to move Wright and Randolph to get the last piece for them to be a playoff team.
There is no PG to be had at the deadline. Hinrich isn’t going to help either. The only way the Bulls move him is if they get a starting 4 in return. They need to blow this up and try to hold onto AB, Bellineli, Buike, Randolph and Morrow. Move as many others as they can to create flexibility and then see what can be done in the offseason after drafting a point guard ( Teague, Rubio, Mills, Curry).
Too bad Cuban hates the Warriors. I would like to take Stackhouse and Kidd’s expiring deal in exchange for Jack, Maggette and Crawford. That would get us into rebuild mode ASAP.
Or- offer those 3 for O’neil and Graham in Toronto. Jermaine’s contract would be quite popular next season and would allow the W’s to swap him for a star that another team wants to dump (Brand) or possibly to a take on a bad deal and grab a young player along the way (Curry with D.Lee). And if that’s not there- just let him expire.
There’s no point in Toronto trying to conserve cap right now- they need to try to get as many good players as they can to try to make 2 playoff runs while Bosh is still around.
